Captain Dallas Batson is the strategic commander for all Operations within Union County Sheriff's Office.
Captain Batson began his career in 1984 with Clayton County Fire Department in Clayton County, Georgia. He worked as a firefighter and paramedic there until 1988 when he attended the police academy. Captain Batson became a police officer with Clayton County Police Department in 1989 and became a field training officer while serving with Clayton County.
In 2001, Captain Batson became a School Resource Officer with Union County Sheriff's Office and was assigned to Union County School System. He worked in the schools briefly before being assigned to Uniform Patrol as a Deputy Sheriff. He was subsequently promoted to Shift Sergeant and remained in that position for about 5 years before accepting promotions to Lieutenant and then Captain. He currently serves as a general instructor and hostage negotiator for the SWAT team.
In his spare time, Captain Batson enjoys spending time with his wife of 25 years. He has two adult daughters and one teenage son. He especially enjoys spending time with his granddaughter every chance he gets.
